Youth from the Central region have been urged to identify strategic value addition opportunities that will help them improve the area.
Speaking at an agribusiness agripreneurs training organized by Gudie Leisure Farm in Najjera, Kampala, Prof Gudula Naiga Basaza, the Farm’s Executive Director urged the youth to engage in various agribusiness development activities that will improve their lives.
Basaza stated that the initiative is deliberate in promoting value addition opportunities through providing various agribusiness development services to micro, small and medium enterprise (MSMEs) in the agricultural sector in particular, those operating in the white meat value chain.
She added that, the youth are embracing their role in transforming the region by being proactive, productive, planned and profitable enterpreneurs.
“We want to create a new group of youth that understand the businesses and sound of money in their businesses. You can not do any business without knowing how it works,” said Prof Basaza.
Speaking at the same event, the Parish Development Model (PDM) national coordinator at the Ministry of Local Government, Mr. Patrick Mutoni encouraged Ugandans to apply for the cash.
“It’s free of charge to apply for the money,” he said explaining that government is determined to use PDM to transform poor households.
