Just hours to the opening of the 2014 World Cup tournament, the police in Kampala have a released comprehensive security guidelines to be followed in ensuring security of all football fans.
Addressing the media earlier today, the police spokesperson Fred Enanga said that all division police commanders have been instructed to inspect venues that intend to show world cup matches in addition to profiling all workers in those places
Meanwhile all proprietors of venues intending to screen the matches have been directed to register with police and local authorities for approval.
The Kampala East Regional Police Commander Siraje Bakaleke says these places are required to have adequate lighting on top of maxim security both in and outside.
In Wakiso district, the police have directed all proprietors of public places that intend to screen the World Cup matches to form security committees.
The Wakiso Division Police Commander Norah Mpaulo says that thorough inspection is already ongoing.
