The ministry works and transport says the proposed 1.3 trillion shillings planned allocation for the next financial year is too little compared to the sector demands.
According to 2012/2013 pre-budget proposals, government has allocated 1.3 trillion shillings up from Shs. 1.2 Trillion last year.
The works and transport minister Eng Abraham Byandala says the ministry is constrained with limited funding and can not meet all targets.
Eng. Byandala says they require an additional 400 billion shillings to cater for different activities.
Meanwhile, the ministry is to begin permanent works on the roads in the Karamoja next year.
Area MPs have complained that most of the roads have been washed away by heavy rains while others are impassable.
