Witnesses against Kayihura opt out, claim they were bribed to testify against the IGP

A group of opposition youths who had come out to testify against the inspector general of police general Kale Kayihura have opted out, a day before they were expected to appear before Makindye magistrates court to testify in a case of police brutality against civilians.
Addressing journalists at Makerere University, three members of the group including Andrew Sebitosi, Rogers Ddiba and Joseph Kaddu claim they were bribed to testify against the IGP yet were not among those beaten.
The youths say they were approached by a group of lawyers and were each given Shs. 800,000 with a promise of 5M after giving testimony.
