A widow, whose land was affected by the construction of Entebbe Express Highway Project, has dragged Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) to High Court Kampala demanding compensation of 473 million shillings.
Josephine Nakayenga Kiyaga through her lawyers of Okurut & Company Advocates says in November 2013 UNRA promised to compensate her for the land and the developments that were on it.
However, on 27 October last year UNRA demolished all property on her land at Nalumunye before compensating her.
Nakayenga contends that actions of UNRA were not only unlawful but caused loss to her family, pain and mental anguish.
She now wants Court to compel UNRA to compensate her.
Court has given UNRA 15 days to respond before the trial Judge Benjamin Kabiito fixes the case for hearing.
