The Uganda Women Parliamentary Association wants government to produce a list of all the beneficiaries of the students’ loan scheme.

The vice chairperson of UWOPA, Harriet Ntabazi says the demands are intended to ensure that the process of accessing the scheme is gender sensitive.

Presenting the association’s policy before the Education committee, Ntabazi says with the focus on science subjects, it might exclude most girls out since many prefer to take on art subjects.

According to the Higher Education Students Financing Scheme board chairman, Prof. Calisto Locheng, the final list of beneficiaries will be released by September 15th.
