Market vendors have today been sensitized on fire safety.
The police at St Balikuddembe market have embarked on a massive campaign to help ensure safety of both vendors and their merchandise.
St Balikuddembe and Park Yard market have on several occasions been affected by fires whose causes have never been established.
Speaking to KFM, the Officer in Charge of St. Balikuddembe police post, Philemon Ameru, said they are working with the market leadership with focus on proper use of electric appliances.
