Shkodran Mustafi will not be sold to another club this summer after Valencia manager Pako Ayestaran rules out a move for the German international.
The 24-year-old German defender has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this summer.
However, Valencia have been adamant they will not let him go for anything less than his £42m release clause.
Ayestaran said: ‘Mustafi is not for sale and he will stay at VCF. The market is open and there are still possibilities.’
Due to Mustafi’s heavy price tag, Wenger turned his attention to Jonny Evans but West Brom’s asking price is likely to prove prohibitive.
West Brom have quoted a staggering £25m for the Northern Ireland international.
