The U.S. Embassy, the U.S. Agency For International Development (USAID) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) are set to hand over 36 metric tons of high- energy biscuits meant for South Sudanese refugees.

The high-energy biscuits are a gift of the American people to the refugees in Uganda through USAID.

The goods will be delivered pro-bono by the American logistics company, United Parcel Services in Entebbe tomorrow.

The biscuits are part of a larger 70 million USD contribution that the U.S.Government has made this year to the refugee humanitarian response in Uganda through the WFP.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Agency for International Development Administrator Mark Green is travelling to Sudan, to discuss progress toward improving humanitarian access in Sudan, as part of the expanded bilateral engagement that began last year.

According to a statement from the US department of state, administrator Green will also meet with United Nations officials, and visit people displaced by conflict.
