US President Warns Against Abuse Of Africa’s Women

US president Barrack Obama has promised that his government will work with Kenya to pursue development that extends economic progress and dignity.
During his address at Kasarani stadium in the Kenyan capital Nairobi yesterday, Obama outlined a number of areas in which the two countries are working together including entrepreneurship, access to power, health, climate change, and food security among others.
He also singled out investment in the youths as one that is fundamental to the country’s future.
He also spoke against the culture of repressing women and domestic abuse saying these are practices that hold society back, adding that any nation that fails to educate its girls or employ its women and allow them to maximize their full potential is doomed to fall behind in the global economy.
He urged Kenya and Africa at large to appreciate and take advantage of its diversity adding that Unity should a source of strength.
On terror threats, Obama said violent extremism can best be fought when society is united.
