The Uganda Revenue Authority is set to introduce Electronic Fiscal Devices in an effort to achieve total tax compliance in all sectors.
In the financial 2016-2017 the authority registered a 457bn short fall which was partly attributed to non-compliance.
According to Ms. Doris Akol the URA Commissioner General, starting this financial year all formal businesses will be required to use these machines for easy tax assessment.
She says these machines will serve URA with daily taxpayers’ transaction details to solve issues of under deceleration of sales, non-issuance of invoices and others.
