All is not well for local artist, Irene Namubiru.
The Uganda Revenue Authority has today cracked the whip of tax defaulters closing two companies and auctioning property. One of the properties up for auctioning is a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to Irene Namubiru.
The tax body’s head of the debt collection unit Abdusalam Waiswa says the singer failed to pay taxes amounting to Sh.11million for an album launch in 2011.
Waiswa says that the amount has accumulated over time and if she does not clear by 1st November, her vehicle will be auctioned.
Meanwhile, the affected companies are Lubmark investment limited and Sky Net a courier company both located in Ntinda a Kampala suburb which owe the authority Shs.350 million and Shs.500 million respectively.
