The Uganda Police Defence Forces have warned all political actors against making statements that might incite violence.
Addressing journalists in Kampala, the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen.Katumba Wamala said different embassies have issued travel alerts for their citizens amid fears of possible security deterioration during elections.
Referringto the ongoing violence in neighboring Burundi which stemmed from President Pierre Nkurunziza’s decision in April to seek a third term in office, Gen. Katumba warns that anyone who takes the violence route shall be dealt with according to the law.

Meanwhile, Ugandans have also been urged to be very watchful during this Christmas seasons because threats still remain.
Gen. Katumba Wamala notes that many Ugandans have become reluctant about their personal security and that of the nation. He therefore urges members of the general public to remain vigilant and watchful as the festive season sets in.
