UPDF Threatens To Blacklist Companies Over Fake Seeds

Reporter | December 10, 2015

The UPDF under the Operation Wealth Creation program has threatened to blacklist all companies that supply fake seeds.

This follows several complaints registered by local farmers in Serere district over supply of fake sorghum seeds that have failed to germinate.

The National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADs) executive director, Dr. Samuel Mugasi says this was confirmed after sampling some of the seeds.

He says with such complaints, they have no option but to blacklist such companies.

The Serere district Vice chairperson, Simon Peter Odong says in many villages, the sorghum seeds have turned out to be weeds.
