The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has dismissed allegations that the Lord’s Resistance Army rebels have carried out abductions in the Central African Republic.
This follows a recent report by the LRA Crisis Tracker which indicated that the rebels under their commander, Joseph Kony carried out several attacks since the beginning of the year in which over 200 people were abducted, most of whom are children and women.
However, UPDF spokesperson Lt.Col Paddy Ankunda tells KFM that the claim is unfounded.
Kony faces criminal sanctions on crimes against humanities and abuse of human rights among others at the International Criminal Court in the Hague.
