The struggle in Uganda People’s Congress Party seems to have moved from political stage to the control of the party’s business arm.
Addressing journalists at Uganda house Lawrence Okae the National Chairperson from Jimmy Akena’s group announced that the party representatives on Milton Obote Foundation Board are to face disciplinary actions for breach of trust.
He says 7 members to will face the disciplinary committee.
Milton Obote Foundation was incorporated in 1964, as a Company limited by guarantee and their principles were to support efforts of fighting ignorance, poverty and disease in order to improve the standard of living of the peoples of Uganda and East Africa.
Okae says during the national council meeting the party leadership mandated to take legal, political and administrative measures to ensure that the legal ownership and control of Uganda House and other properties of the Party get into the full control of the party.
UPC national council’s remark came hardly when Milton Obote Foundation current leadership petitioned Akena and group for illegally occupying UPC Offices at Uganda house and acting as UPC President yet he was not elected.
