The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) has urged government to set up a committee of inquiry into the murder of state Minister for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, Col (rtd) Charles Okello Engola who was shot dead on Tuesday this week.
The minister, who also doubled as Oyam North County Member of Parliament was shot dead at his home in Kyanja by his bodyguard.
Speaking to the media at the party’s head offices in Kampala, the UPC spokesperson, Sharon Oyat, asked government to establish the said committee of inquiry, noting that the allegations of bodyguard’s delayed payment may not be true.
Meanwhile, she condemned the growing vice of aggrieved Ugandans taking the law into their hands which has led to the death of numerous citizens.
