A group of people under the Uganda Association of the Uneducated Persons are demanding for special slots in Parliament.
In a petition filed at the office of the Speaker of Parliament today, the group’s speaker, John Bukenya says the uneducated people have for long been neglected by their local leaders due to their status.
Bukenya adds that politicians have taken advantage of this to manipulate them, instead of fronting their concerns.
He says they want Parliament to consider giving them a representative from each region who can also deliberate in local languages.
