The Uganda National Examinations Board has postponed tomorrows UCE exam.
This has been revealed by the UNEB chairman Fagil Mandy.
He tells KFM that the decision to postpone tomorrow’s exam was reached following an impromptu meeting held this evening with stakeholders.
The senior four students were meant to sit for Chemistry practicals tomorrow morning but Mandy says a new date shall be communicated in due course.
This comes after the High Court dismissed with costs an application seeking a temporary injunction restraining UNEB from conducting exams on Eid day.
A group of Muslims led by one Sadic Kakaire and Isota Magumba had asked the High Court to stop UNEB from organizing and conducting national examinations on Eid and other public holidays until the main application is disposed of.
However, the High Court Deputy Registrar Tadeo Asiimwe dismissed the application on grounds that there was no evidence of students being affected by the decision.
He added that granting the injunction would affect other students who do not believe in the Islamic faith and would cause confusion to the entire nation.
This comes on the first day of the Uganda Certificate of Education exams.
