UNEB laments over low staffing

UNEB Secretary Matthew Bukenya

The Uganda National Examinations Board(UNEB) has decried the inadequate man power which has affected the officials’ ability to traverse the whole country for supervision.

This comes as the board starts the 2015 examination cycle amidst increasing cases of malpractice.

According to UNEB secretary Mathew Bukenya, the board is now working at 70% capacity, yet for effective supervision 100% staffing is recommended.

He explains that currently UNEB supervises approximately 2,400 centers Β and the number is likely to increase this year.

He adds that these inadequacies have always forced UNEB to merge some centers for effective management which should be avoided.
