Persons living with HIV have demanded government’s quick intervention in availing ARVs in health facilities to save lives.

They say the prevalent ARV shortage in health facilities has forced some to change their drug combination which comes with negative health effects.

The coordinator for National Forum for Persons living with HIV/AIDS in Uganda, Milly Katana says that Uganda is likely to have a reverse trend in managing the disease as more people are likely to develop drug resistance.

In October this year, the national commodity stock status report indicated that 12 of the 17 ARV regimens in the public sector had fewer stocks of less than three months remaining at the central warehouse.
