Members of parliament have this evening paid glowing tribute to fallen scholar Prof Ali Mazrui.
The motion to pay tribute to the late Mazrui was moved by state minister for higher education Dr. Cryzestom Muyingo who was seconded by among others Jimmy Akena and John Ken Lukyamuzi.
Muyingo described the late as a distinguished scholar who helped lay a strong foundation for political science studies in Uganda and many other African countries.
He said the late nurtured several academicians in the country and continent at large.
Several other MPs said the world and continent had lost a great treasure who promoted education, peace and unity.
Meanwhile the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has said a corner is to be created in the parliamentary library for the late Mazrui’s literature.
Prof. Ali Mazrui died early last month from a UK hospital.
