The ministry of health has dismissed media reports indicating that there is an outbreak of Ebola in Uganda declaring the country Ebola free.

According to the state minister for health in charge of general duties, Sarah Opendi , the person who is claimed to have died of Ebola in Mubende  died of Crimean –Congo hemorrhagic fever.

She says currently three people who had contact with the deceased person have been confined in an isolation center.

Opendi adds that a national rapid response team jointly with health ministry has been dispatched to Mubende to collect more information and also assist the district to mount an appropriate response.

She meantime calling upon the general public to immediately report cases presenting high grade fevers and bleeding tendencies to the nearest health facilities.
