Uganda has been challenged to conduct and behave in a manner that falls within the global democracy citizenship if it claims to be a true democracy.
The challenge comes from Dr Tolit Atiya, the executive director Nile institute of policy and security studies following the just concluded polls.
Dr Atiya tells KFM that the government claiming that the polls were peaceful, free and fair remain questionable given the pre-election period that was marred by a lot of violence and arrest and detention of opposition politicians.
He however says as the opposition takes to court to challenge the presidential poll results, it remains to be seen if they will be ably accorded their day in court.
Atiyo asks Ugandans to give the court a benefit of the doubt on its final ruling.
The NUP former presidential candidate Robert kyagulanyi has since vowed to challenge the 2021 presidential poll results in court.
