The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has vowed to challenge an Interim Court order restraining it from implementing the digital signal transmission.
Yesterday the Mengo Chief Magistrates Court issued an interim order to the Communications regulator to immediately switch back to analogue from digital TV transmission.
The commission’s executive director Godfrey Mutabaazi says they have already received a copy of the order and are challenging it in court.
The first phase of switch to digital broadcast was effected on the 15th of June ahead of the international deadline of 17th June for areas within a radius of 65 km from Kampala.
