The Uganda Communications Commission has admitted it lacks capacity to monitor misleading advertisement by herbalists and witch doctors.
Appearing before parliament’s committee on gender this morning, Jonas Muhoozi, the acting Executive Director said they receive complaints from public and police but their hands are tied.
Muhoozi says they can only effectively monitor 60 out of the 200 FM radio stations.
He explains that the monitoring system is currently limited to the districts of Mbarara, Masindi, Gulu and Mbale but planning to expand this financial year.
