Online transportation network company Uber, has announced a 23% cut on its transport costs around Kampala.

According to Uber Country Lead for Uganda, Aaron Tindiseega, the cut is aimed at unlocking more businesses for driver-partners while increasing demand for uber riders.

Since its launch in Kampala in June last year, Uber has attracted over 15,000 active riders within Kampala and neighboring areas.

The new cuts will see fairs fall from 900 shillings per kilometer down to 750 shillings implying that the 200 shillings charge per minute has been reduced to 150 shillings.
