Two new oil institutes to be built

Government is to establish more technical oil and gas institutions inΒ Nwoya and Kicwamba districts respectively.

The move is aimed at producing more skilled people who are to boost the oil sector in the Albertine region.

The head of petroleum directorate at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Ernest Rubondo says one training institution is not enough for the growing demand for a technical workforce in the field of oil and gas.

In a related development the assistant commissioner exploration directorate of petroleum at the energy ministry, Frank Mugisha says 16 out of 17 companies have qualified to join the biding stage to drill oil.
