The Food Rights Alliance Executive Director Agnes Kirabo has called for equity if both men and women are to attain gender equality in all aspects of life in Uganda.

According to a recent report by Twaweza Uganda, 32% of Ugandans think that men should be given priority and more resources over women.

However, Kirabo says all women and men need to be given the same opportunities and resources because the former have since taken over responsibilities and roles of the later.

Kirabo adds that many women are now the sole bread winners of their families and have taken over most roles that were predominantly for men and thus the need for them to be given an equal platform and resources to propel their growth.
