Tooro Kingdom Prime minister, Stephen Kaliba has resigned to join politics.

Kaliba is eyeing the Fort Portal Municipality seat currently occupied by Alex Ruhunda.

Kaliba earlier occupied the same seat up to 2011 when he lost to Ruhunda twice in the NRM primaries and at the final lap.

Kaliba said it is a great honor for him to have completed his term of office and asked the people of Tooro to support him.

Kaliba has served as Tooro Kingdom premier for two years.

However, reliable sources say King of Tooro, Oyo Nyimba is very soon expected to announce a new cabinet to the Kingdom parliament where a new premier in the names of Bernard Tungwako will be declared premier.
