Reporter | May 23, 2014

The police in Masaka are hunting for suspected robbers who broke into St. John’s Church and made away with property worth over Shs15 million.

According to Rev. Canon Gaster Nsereko, the Vicar of the church, the robbers broke into his office and took a computer, a public address system, a digital camera and offertory.

The Southern Region police spokesperson Noah Sserunjoji says a security guard has already been arrested to help with investigations.

This is the second case of church theft to be registered in the region since the beginning of the year.

The first was at Luvule Catholic Church Parish where offertory worth Shs 700,000 was stolen.
