Three of the pupils that were affected by lightening in Bushenyi yesterday are in critical condition.
Eight pupils of Buramba Primary School in Bushenyi-Iskhaka
municipality were yesterday struck dead by lightning while 17 others and a teacher were affected and have been admitted at Kampala International University Teaching Hospital.
According to the school head Peace Kyobutungi, the pupils were in class when the lightning struck at around 4pm.
Six of the deceased were Primary seven pupils while 2 were in Primary six.
Bushenyi RDC Isaac Kawoya has appealed to the Disaster Preparedness Ministry to support the parents and the local community to have lightning conductors installed in all school buildings.
Early this month lightning struck Bunyarigi Primary School in the same municipality and six were seriously injured.
