Police at Malongo in Lwengo district has arrested three people in connection with murder of 24 year old man.
The suspects in police custody have been identified as Mathias Nsubuga, Robert Kalanda and Flavia Namuddu for their alleged involvement in the murder of Julius Bukenya, 24.
The shocking incident occurred at Kalegero Village, Malongo Sub County in Lwengo district when the suspects reportedly killed Bukenya.
The trio is said to have way laid Bukenya on his way back home from a bar belonging to Namuddu clubbing him to death.
Preliminary investigations indicate that trio was last seen with the deceased at the bar before he was found lying in a pool of blood when he is dead.
Kalegero Village Chairperson, Jane Francis Katende, says that he was shocked to receive information that people had landed on the body of Bukenya alongside the road after he had been killed by unidentified people.
He says that he called police intervened by arresting the trio and picking the deceased’s body.
Noah Sserunjogi, the Southern Region Police Spokesperson says that the suspects trailed Bukenya from a bar where he was having fan after seeing him with money.
He says that Police has arrested the trio to help police with investigations into the matter.
Sserunjogi says that police has recovered blood stained cloths and clubs at the suspects home which were used in the murder.
Sserunjogi says that the deceased’s body has been taken to hospital for postmortem as investigations into the matter goes on.
