The police have taken over security at Makerere University following its closure.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander Andrew Felix Kaweesi has warned the university guild against plans to mobilize students to cause disorder.
He says police will control access to the university and any activity within the campus will be guided by security.
The only exceptions will be university administration, cleaners, and banks.
He says new students will be screened on Monday when they pick admission letters.
The closure of the university was prompted by a lecturers’ strike over pay.
