Thousands of city dwellers have turned up for the Kampala City festival with more expected as the day goes by.

This year’s theme is ‘For the love of Kampala’.
The procession route stretched over 10kms, covering areas of Kololo ceremonial grounds, Wampeewo Avenue, Yusuf Lule road, Nile Avenue, Lumumba Avenue, Kyaggwe Road, and Jinja Road.
Meanwhile, a section of leaders in Kampala has tasked Kampala Capital City Authority to explain its expenditure for organizing the Kampala Festival.
KCCA has spent over sh800 million to organize the carnival to be hosted in the city centre today.
However Rubaga North MP, Moses Kasibante says KCCA has solicited a lot of money from corporate companies meant to advertise in the carnival and must account for it.
Kasibante also says the money spent on the carnival would have been used in clearing the drainage and constructing more roads in the city.
