Ten arrested for masquerading as flying squad members

The Police force has revitalized its efforts to overhaul the flying squad unit that deals with aggravated crime in Uganda.

The new move has already yielded fruit ten people already arrested for masquerading as officers attached to the flying squad extorting money from the public.

According to the police spokesperson Fred Enanga six people were arrested in Kampala metropolitan area effecting, while the rest were picked up from the eastern region.

He adds that the force have now widened its scope of investigation to include their base, the source of arms these criminal gangs possess as well as ascertaining whether they had any attachment to the disbanded rapid response unit.
