Uganda National Teachers’ Union has lashed at the education ministry for its decision to transfer over 1200 teachers at once.
The transfers to be effected by next term have seen schools like Makerere College and Kings College Buddo have 18 and 10 teachers transferred respectively.
Unatu General Secretary James Tweheyo says the transfers are likely to affect the general performance in the education sector.
However the Acting Commissioner for Secondary education Benson Kule says the transfers are a normal routine process that is conducted annually to facilitate effective teaching.
