The opposition Democratic Alliance is today expected to announce its flag for the 2016 presidential race.
This is after the four candidates in the race on Friday asked the Alliance Summit for more time to consult their respective parties and supporters on the proposal to field two candidates.
The alliance now awaits the candidates’ position before it can announce a joint opposition presidential candidate.
According to Godbar Tumushabe, one of the alliance members, the selection process will be concluded today.
There are four candidates but sources within the alliance indicate that FDC flag bearer Dr Kiiza Besigye and former premier Amama Mbabazi are the favorites.
The others are Democratic Party’s Nobert Mao and former Vice President Prof Gilbert Bukenya.
