Health experts have discovered a worrying growing trend in the infections of Tuberculosis -TB in urban areas.
A survey released by USAID indicates that 20- 30 people die every day due to Tuberculosis nationally.
It further shows that 89,000 new cases are registered annually with 40% of the people in communities having TB being unaware of having the infection.
Addressing journalists today, the chief of Party at USAID Defeat TB project Dr. Abel Nkolomany people do not seek treatment from professionals while others abandon it before the recommended six months putting their lives in danger.
Akolo adds that men are the principal carriers of the disease as compared to women.
The disease is common in taxi parks, prisons, slum areas, schools, bars and fishing grounds are the biggest hotpots.
