Taxi drivers have asked government to drop the 100,000 they intend to charge as inspection fees on a mandatory plan to inspect all vehicles beginning next month.

According to the spokesperson of Kampala Operators Taxi Stages Association Mawejje Birungi  ,the move is intended to check on mechanical conditions of all vehicles to check their road worthiness but drivers say the move is good but the fees are too much for them yet they pay other charges

He also says police should also drop the plan move to charge them on the old traffic offenses as they agreed in a meeting they held with police
