BY TOM BRIAN ANGURINI.

The state minister for youth and children affairs Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi has announced that effective Monday 2nd July all street kids will be taken off the streets of Kampala.

Speaking to KFM Nakiwala says the operation will be carried out with help of Uganda police and KCCA law enforcement officers.

According to Nakiwala, street kids will be prevented to enter traffic lanes to beg and any motorist found giving out any goodies to them will be arrested and prosecuted.

She has warned criminal gangs who have made children to beg on the streets for their own benefit that soon the law will catch up with  them.

The street kids will taken to government rehabilitation centers for rehabilitation were they will also undergo skill training.
