The National Medical Stores has advised the ministry of local government to pass by laws aimed at reducing stray dogs in different regions.
This follows numerous reports of dog attacks reported in different parts of the country with many of the victims getting infected with rabies.
The spokesperson of the Uganda National Medical Stores Daniel Kimosho says although they have rabies vaccines in store, reducing stray dogs could help reduce the expenditure on such drugs.
He says it is easier to vaccinate domestic dogs after the stray ones are killed thereby availing more vaccines in case of any dog bite.
