The state witness in a case against former FDC party president Dr. Kizza Besigye has withdrawn from the case.
Donatus Eguma cites intimidation by government agents to pin the accused persons against his conscience.
Dr Besigye is jointly charged with Kampala lord mayor Elias Lukwago, mayor Kawempe division, Mubarak Munyagwa and FDC Women leader Ingrid Turinawe among others.
They are said to have incited the public in 2012 at Kabale stadium to stone four policemen and four police cars.
Eguma told the press outside the Kabale Chief Magistrates court today that he chose to keep out of the case for his safety.
In is submission, the resident state attorney Batson Baguma said that he is ready to proceed with other witnesses who were ready to testify.
However defence lawyer Jonathan Bwagi asked for more time to study the case after the passing on of the official lawyer Wilfred Murumba.
The Kabale chief magistrate Godfrey Kaweesa has now adjourned the case to the 17th of June 2015.
