Former Kampala mayor Alhajji Nasser Ssebaggala has filed an application asking court to pronounce itself on whether or not his eviction from the town clerk’s residence was lawful.
His eviction from the house located at Plot 1 Sezibwa road was completed yesterday by the police and officials from Kampala Capital City Authority.
Ssebagala was scheduled to appear before Court today applying for a temporary injunction against the eviction, which was overtaken by events.
He has now withdrawn that application and filed a fresh one on the legality of the orders of the KCCA Executive Director Jennipher Musisi.
His lawyer Gaster Mugoya says KCCA should have obtained a court order before effecting the eviction.
Mugoya says many of the actions taken by KCCA are questionable, adding that they would be filing more cases.
The case will be heard by Justice Opio Aweri on 14th July.
The former mayor claims to have been cleared by President Museveni to purchase the house while the KCCA leadership says he did not follow the proper procedure.
