The SPLM in Opposition has finally signed the minutes from the Security Workshop held in Addis Ababa after discussions with the government.
The South Sudan government and the SPLM in Opposition expressed commitment to continue with discussions in Addis Ababa to find lasting solutions to outstanding issues in the agreement.
In September, the SPLM declined to sign minutes of a workshop organized by the IGAD on the Security Arrangements in the interim period.
During the workshop, the two sides disagreed on the number of organized forces to be deployed in Juba.
The government proposed 5,000 troops from all the organized forces in Juba, but the SPLM in Opposition disagreed.
It suggested that the number of forces should be less than 500.
