The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has tasked ministry of gender to explain the new agreement with Saudi Arabia on labour exportation, yet parliament had earlier resolved to stop the same.
Parliament on 18 December 2014 resolved to stop exportation of domestic workers citing abuse and exploitation of Ugandan workers while in these counties.
MPs Beatrice Anywar, Bernard Atiku and Dr. Francis Apetite say government has ignored a report by the gender committee indicating that many girls sent to work abroad have been turned into sex slaves.
Now the speaker of parliament has tasked government to table the said Memorandum of Understanding before parliament tomorrow for perusal.
