The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has called for more sensitization about the scourge of cancer and installation of screening facilities if the disease is to be contained in the country.

While launching the rotary cancer run for 2017, Kadaga said the country does not have enough screening facilities for cancer yet the disease can only be realized in its last stages.

She is now calling upon government to make cancer screening compulsory and automatic.

The speaker meanwhile has pledged 449Million shillings from parliament where each Member of Parliament will contribute Shs 1 Million for this year’s cancer run which is soliciting for 1M dollars to construct a bunker for a radio therapy machine at Nsambya Hospital.
