Government is to come up with a comprehensive approach on the treatment and management of the sickle cell disease in the country.
Speaking at a sickle cell conference at Hotel Africana, the Vice president Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi said that the fact that 20% of couples are at a risk of having children with the disease is cause for worry.
Ssekandi said the government will continue to partner with civil society and donors to avail treatment to sicklers in clinics and hospitals.
