The Police Fire Brigade has put out the fire that caught 2shops at Namaganda Plaza in the city centre.

Property worth millions of shillings, including clothing, jewelry and some electronics has been destroyed.

The Deputy Operations Chief at the Fire Brigade Hassan Gihanda says one person was injured though it’s not clear whether he was affected by the fire or hurt in the scuffle as people run for their lives.

He says the damage on the building was quite severe though the police intervened in time.

Gihanda says investigations into the actual cause of the fire are still ongoing.

Witnesses at the scene however point to poor electricity wiring as the cause of the fire though investigations continue.
