The opposition shadow cabinet has held its meeting this morning to discuss a range of national matters.
In a tweet, the leader of opposition Nyendo-Mukungwe MP who chaired the morning session, Mathius Mpuuga, said the cabinet sitting is meant to come up with a common position on the controversial multi-billion coffee deal between the government and Vinci Coffee Company Ltd, high commodity prices and the Parish Development Model.
The second session is currently underway and is being chaired by the shadow Local Government Minister, also Wakiso District Woman Member of Parliament Betty Ethel Naluyima.
This comes ahead of a planned NRM parliamentary caucus meeting called by the party national chairman President Museveni at Kololo Independence Grounds this afternoon.
The meeting, according to the caucus spokesperson Brandon Kintu, is expected to begin at 2pm and will also mainly focus on the increasing essential commodity prices, the controversial multi-billion coffee deal and Lubowa Hospital project that have sparked public outrage.
